As you can tell I’m a horrible blogger. I’ve not posted anything since my stuck pixel monitor rant in September last year, and I’ve been meaning to make a post since December.

Here goes nothing

Still at university. Nothing’s changed since 2010 then. I’m still in my third year of my course, another year to go. Course is going fine, getting the work done and support has been great as always.

A thought though, since coming back from placement in August, being on my course doesn’t feel the same as it did. As much as I didn’t miss the commitment of being in a work environment and working Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm… I miss the work environment. I miss not having to go to lectures and ‘learn’ stuff and miss being able to do something that is productive. It’s why I’m enjoying working at the SU and Hub more than doing my degree. Perhaps it’s a sign that I need to move away from uni life. It was never going to last I suppose.

Still at Hub Radio. Though like university, I need to start looking ahead. As much as I have enjoyed working at Hub (and depending who I’ve encountered, hated, to put it politely), from running the station, being an on-and-off presenter and from running all the technical aspects of the station, it’s come to a point where I need to move away. I don’t want to, but I’m never going to be at university forever. Why not continue radio after uni? Well, why not. I’ve got another year to go before I graduate but it’s not going to stop me looking for a technical job in the industry. Oddly enough, that’s what I’ve started to do. I’ve begun to meet people in the industry (as well as break through my fear of meeting new people on my own), I suppose this is a work in progress.

Still work at the Students’ Union in the Media & IT department. Nothing’s changed there. Always an interesting experience. Especially when you go out to a staff party, get completely obliterated and then come in next day, go home, and get completely fraped because you left your computer unlocked and password manager open.

I don’t like Christmas that much

Still in Bristol. Don’t particularly want to leave. Bristol does that to you.

Not much else to report really. There you go, that’s just about summed up everything. Now I’m off to sleep. Have fun.
